The Middletown Commission On The Arts

has awarded J-Cherry, producer of the Middletown Music Festival, a grant for this year's festival. The festival will be held on Sunday, August 11th, from 12 to 8 PM at Middlesex Community College. Rain or shine. J-Cherry is also the producer of, Anything Goes Open Mic Mondays at the Buttonwood Tree, and VOICE of the CITY, a radio show featuring local artisits in Connecticut, airing on WESU 88.1FM, Tuesday evening from 8-9PM, and rebroadcast on Cygnus Radio, on Wednesday nights from 7-8PM. Her mission is to provide a stage for local musicians and perfromance artisits, "We have a vibrant music and arts culture in CT. Middletown is a wonderful place to showcase our state's local arts and music scene. We have five bands including the, Michael Cleary Band, The Mighty Soul Drivers, and more to be annouced soon. There will also be comedy acts, poetry, and danceing. With local artisians, food vendors, and more. I am so thankful for the support of the MCA, WESU 88.1FM, and all the volunteers who make this festival possible. I can't do it alone!"
